Seattle's visionary producer Sean Wolcott has crafted one of his finest works yet: Lady Swordfighter, an imagined Japanese film soundtrack that has already become legendary among Wamono and cinema fans. From this masterpiece comes the haunting ballad “Nine Lives Are Not Enough”, sung in Japanese and now issued for the first time as a Japan limited-edition 7-inch from Fourth Wave Record Factory.

Blending psychedelic jazz-funk with the mystique of traditional Japanese instrumentation—shakuhachi, koto, shinobue, and taiko—Wolcott conjures a sound world that recalls the raw power of early '70s exploitation scores while pushing them into new territory. Distorted fuzz lines meet spectral Japanese melodies, ascending into a drama of sorrow and intensity.

More than just a song, Lady Swordfighter is a cinematic soundscape—an unprecedented audio picture scroll.
