DJ TAMA “2000” ではメインストリーム多めの選曲に対し、今回の
DJ SEIJIの「re:2000」ではノーサンプリングが流行ったこの頃でもDJ Premierから始まったと言われているチョップフリップ手法によるビートメイキングなどのサンプリングによる良曲やアングラ多めのまさに裏2000年ベスト！
DJ Premierビートから(2)(17)(21)(22)(23)(24)(27)(28)(29)(32)(33)。加えて外せないPete Rockによるビートから(6)(8)(16)(20)。サンプリングの可能性という意味でも、2006年に再発もされたり、後にPart 2もリリースされた(9)やドイツのクルーの(25)(37)のヨーロッパ勢の楽曲にも注目。
変わり種楽曲では日本でも流行ったスーパーマリオネタの(3)。今回のレア盤は、同曲で2種類のVinylが存在するBig Lの(8)、オリジナル盤がなかなか見つからないCocoa Brovazの(9)、ドラムブレイクが8小節追加されたDJ仕様にになっているCuban Linkの(36)。
他にもUK盤は有るがUSではプロモ止まりのVinylは(8)(22)(27)(29)(33)。ちなみにThe Beatnutsの(11)は2000年にプロモがリリースされ2001年に正規リリース。AZの(2)も2000年に自主盤がリリースされ、翌年に正規盤がリリース。
